Nicole Schneider, PhD

The Wisconsin Gives ( website was founded in 2017 by Nicole Schneider, PhD. Nicole was born and raised in a small town in Wisconsin. After leaving the state to earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work, she returned to Wisconsin in 1998 and spent 10 years working with Green Bay area non-profits, designing and evaluating programs for the most vulnerable Americans.

Nicole commuted to the Boston area to study public policy and earned a master’s degree and doctorate from Brandeis University in 2015. While there, she was a fellow for the federal Agency on Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ).

Nicole spent five years teaching courses in social policy analysis and the history of social welfare in America. She has a strong belief that local responses and efforts to address community problems are the most effective.

Nicole lives in De Pere, Wisconsin, with her husband and four children.
